Outside Cut Turn - Cones Dribbling Drills for U12-U13

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Place the ball to the right of the first cone.
  2. Take the ball through the cones with the laces of the right foot.
  3. Close in on the ball.
  4. Cut the ball with the outside of the left foot.
  5. At the same time:
    1. Rotate to the left.
    2. Place the support foot (right) exact opposite of the direction to go through the next cones.
  6. Take the ball through the cones with the laces of the left foot.
  7. Close in on the ball.
  8. Cut the ball with the outside of the right foot.
  9. At the same time:
    1. Rotate to the right.
    2. Place the support foot (left) exact opposite of the direction to go through the next cones.
  10. Continue steps 2-9.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Try to immobilize the ball completely by means of the outside cut.
  3. Rotate after the cut in order to line up at once in the right direction to take the ball through the next cones.
  4. Imagine the correct position to place the support foot while turning.
  5. Position the support foot not too far behind the ball.
