Shuffle Drag Scissor - Static Ball Control Drills for U12-U13

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball in front of right foot).
  2. Shuffle 4 times.
  3. At the same time:
    1. Drag the ball with the inside of the right foot.
    2. Jump to the left on the support foot (left).
  4. Perform a scissor move around the ball with the right foot.
  5. Shuffle 4 times.
  6. At the same time:
    1. Drag the ball with the inside of the left foot.
    2. Jump to the right on the support foot (right).
  7. Perform a scissor move around the ball with the left foot.
  8. Continue step 2-7.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Maintain a straight line and keep the same boundaries.
  3. Shift the weight on the support foot upon execution of the drag.
  4. Drag slightly behind the ball at half height of the ball.
  5. Fluent transitions are key.
  6. Perform a fast compact scissor around the ball. The ball keeps moving while the next shuffle is imminent.
