Pull Push Laces - Static Ball Control Drills for U6-U7

Tutorial

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
  2. Reach for the ball with the ball of the right foot.
  3. Pull the ball back.
  4. Lift the foot of the ball to bring it in position to kick the ball.
  5. Push the ball forward.
  6. Continue steps 1-5.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Bend the knee a bit more on kicking the ball forward. This will help to keep the balance.
  3. Keep a straight line at all times.
