Tip Touch Stepover - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11

This drill builds on the Tip Touch (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9).
When starting with the right foot:
(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)
- Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
- Step on the ball with the right foot.
- At the same time:
- Turn the ankle of the right foot to the left (inside).
- Move the lower part of the right leg to the left while keeping the knee and upper leg stationary.
- Perform a stepover with the left foot as soon as the ball passes the left foot.
- Step on the ball with the left foot.
- At the same time:
- Turn the ankle of the left foot to the right (inside).
- Move the lower part of the left leg to the right while keeping the knee and upper leg stationary.
- Perform a stepover with the right foot as soon as the ball passes the right foot.
- Continue steps 2-7.
Things to watch out for:
- Use the ball of the foot to perform the Tip Touches.
- The Tip Touch consists of a double move by turning the ankle while at the same time moving the lower leg. Use both.
- Start slowly and increase the speed slowly in order to keep the correct technique. When going too fast, the correct technique usually disintegrates.
- Keep the Stepovers tight and fast.
- Jump on the support foot while executing the stepover to maintain the same rhythm.
