5-Way Roll Toe Heel - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (the ball in front of the right foot).
  2. At the same time:
    1. Roll the ball from the toe to the heel with the right foot.
    2. Jump on the support foot (left foot).
  3. At the same time:
    1. Roll the ball backward from heel to toe with the right foot.
    2. Jump on the support foot (left) while turning 45° to the right.
  4. Continue step 2-3 until reaching the opposite side from the starting point (180° and after 5 iterations).
  5. At the same time:
    1. Roll the ball from the toe to the heel with the right foot.
    2. Jump on the support foot (left foot).
  6. At the same time:
    1. Roll the ball backward from heel to toe with the right foot.
    2. Jump on the support foot (left) while turning 45° to the left.
  7. Continue step 5-6 until reaching the starting point (180° and after 4 iterations).
  8. Continue step 2-7.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Keep the sole of the foot parallel to the ground at all times.
  3. Roll straight on the top of the ball and keep contact with the ball at all times.
  4. Pay attention to keep the correct angles (0°- 45°- 90°- 135°- 180°- 135°- 90°- 45°- 0°).
  5. Stay in the rhythm.
