Reverse Shuffles - Static Ball Control Drills for U12-U13

Tutorial

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball in front of right foot).
  2. Step over the ball with the left foot to place it right of the ball (legs are now crossed).
  3. Lift the right foot.
  4. Touch the ball with the laces of the right foot.
  5. At the same time:
    1. Position the right foot on the ground again.
    2. Lift the left foot.
  6. Touch the ball with the outside of the left foot.
  7. At the same time:
    1. Position the left foot on the ground again.
    2. Lift the right foot.
  8. Continue step 4-7

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Focus on the support foot to stay at the same position.
  3. Timing is important. The feet should move asynchronously.
  4. Touch the ball with the laces at the side and middle of the ball.
